The South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society (SHVPS) was founded in 1968 by enthusiasts who seek to preserve and keep roadworthy, historic vintage, veteran, and classic cars and commercial vehicles, pedal and motor cycles – in fact anything with wheels and is over 25 years old.
The Society is based in the Solent area and there are currently approximately 350 members with some 800 such vehicles. Whilst members are predominantly Hampshire folk, a notable number live further afield in north Hampshire, Berkshire, Dorset, Sussex, Surrey, Wiltshire and even overseas.
Over forty years the Society has retained a friendly and informal social atmosphere and members can usually find help and advice in the restoration and maintenance of their vehicles which has contributed to the Society’s continued success.
